Dr. Shum, Tony
Dr. Tony K. Shum received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees respectively from U.C. Berkeley and Yale University. After graduation from UCLA Medical School, he continued his specialization training at the University of Southern California. He became Board certified in 1983.
Dr. Shum is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California. He is the founder of Shum's Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Institute. Dr. Shum has served as an invited speaker for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in year 2000.2002 and 2004. Dr. Shum has been in clinical practice at his current location since 1984. He performs innovative cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, nose and facial rejuvenation using minimal invasive techniques. The hallmark for these procedures is rapid recovery and minimal scarring while well received by clients of all skin types. Dr. Shum continues to embrace the latest technology in his clinical practice to further improve the results of all procedures.
Dr. Shum saw the importance of post surgery recovery and envisioned a comprehensive line of skin care products to aid not only in surgery, but also in every day skin protection. Beginning in 1992, a thorough study on the effects of skin care products was conducted. After three years of extensive research, a line of specially formulated skin care products is introduced in 1995 - Doctor Shum's Choice (DSC). DSC is designed to treat and pamper different skin types and Dr. Shum is the clinical consultant for this special line of products.
Due to various reasons such as aging, hormonal imbalance, work stress, lack of sleep, diet imbalance, sun damage, the skin has to go through many unfavorable conditions.
