Restylane® is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid. It helps to visibly correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines that run from your nose toward the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corners of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines).

The Restylane family of products are indicated for patients over the age of 21, and includes:

In the U.S., the FDA has approved Restylane® for facial wrinkles and folds like the ones from the nose to the corners of the mouth. Restylane® has been used in more than 4 million treatments in over 70 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles and to enhance the appearance of the lip border.
What is the recovery time after a Restylane® treatment?
Recovery time is determined on a case-by-case basis, lasting hours for some patients and two to three days for others. It is recommended that patients wear sunscreen and protective clothing to protect their skin.
How long does Restylane® last?
Restylane® is proven to deliver long-lasting results. Studies have shown that Restylane® effects generally last for about six months! Restylane®’s stabilization technology helps maintain the cosmetic effect until the injected material is nearly gone.
What can be expected during a Restylane® treatment?
Restylane® treatments are administered with a local anesthetic for sensitive areas if the patient prefers. The procedure can take up to 30 minutes, and patients may return to their day-to-day lifestyle immediately following treatment.
What are the side effects associated with Restylane® treatments?
The most common side effects of Restylane® treatments include: headache, nausea, flu-like symptoms, redness, and pain at the injection site. In some instances, patients have reported muscle weakness, which resolves within days or weeks after the treatment.
