DYSPORT TREATMENT IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

Enhance the bold, beautiful, and brilliant you with Dysport (AbobotulinumtoxinA) treatments from Galderma Aesthetics at DSC. Dysport is a quick-acting, FDA-approved, injectable neurotoxin for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe facial frown lines (such as: moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows). Dysport begins to deliver noticeable results in as little as twenty-four hours after treatment, with results typically appearing within two to three days.

Enjoy the beauty of self expression.

Dysport works by relaxing the underlying facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles over time. Animation of the face results in “dynamic lines,” or wrinkles that appear only as the facial muscles move. With repeated movement over time, these dynamic lines can become etched into skin even at rest, becoming what are known as “static lines.” Precise injection of Dysport into specific areas of the face temporarily blocks muscle movement, which then leads to smoothing and softening of overlying lines. Treatments are quick and easy, often only taking minutes, and results last between three to four months. There is little to no downtime after treatment. The beauty of Dysport is its diffusion, which allows results to become visible extremely quickly.

At DSC, our expert providers have many years of injection experience.  Although Dysport is measured in “units” like other neurotoxin treatments, concentration is different and therefore requires specific dosing. With this in mind, our injectors tailor Dysport treatments to each individual’s unique anatomy and desired treatment results. FAQ’s

How much Dysport do I need?

The number of Dysport units needed for satisfactory treatment will depend on severity of lines before treatment, expectations for outcome, size of treatment area, and the number of treatment areas. Generally, it is recommended to treat the glabella area with 50 units of Dysport for excellent outcomes that last the prescribed outcome of three to four months. It is always possible to undertreat an area with additional touchups if needed, especially for first-timers. For individual dosing, we recommend scheduling a free consultation with our experienced consultants at DSC.

What is preventative Dysport?

As outlined above, regular treatment of dynamic lines with Dysport can help prevent the formation of static lines. Although static lines can be greatly softened and in some cases, eliminated, for the duration of a Dysport treatment, there is not a 100% guarantee that all static lines will disappear. Dysport works on the muscles that cause static lines, but some deepset lines may require adjunctive treatments for satisfactory improvement. These can include dermal fillers, laser treatments, and even regenerative treatments (.e.g. energy-based devices or biostimulatory injectables).

What’s the difference between Dysport and Botox?

Dysport and Botox are both FDA-approved neurotoxin injectable treatments. Dysport is from Galderma Aesthetics and Botox is from Allergan Aesthetics. They are different molecular variants of botulinum toxin with similar treatment results. They differ in dosage, rate of effectiveness, and spreadability. At DSC, we offer both Dysport and Botox, as well as Xeomin (another FDA-approved neurotoxin treatment). Individual preference may come down to pricing, brand awareness, recent treatment with one brand or another, personal preference, desired timeline for outcomes, and various other factors. We recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation to help determine which is the right treatment for you.

Am I a candidate for Dysport?

Contraindications for Dysport include, but are not limited to: pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergy to cow’s milk protein, infection or inflammation at treatment sites, and conditions such Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Myasthenia Gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome. Consult your physician on eligibility for Dysport treatments.

What is a Dysport treatment like?

Treatment areas are assessed by our experienced providers before treatment commences. Skin is cleansed and disinfected, after which Dysport is injected with a fine needle into precise treatment areas, as determined by individual anatomy. Lastly, treatment areas may be iced for a few minutes post-treatment to reduce redness and risk of bruising.

Is there any post-care after a Dysport treatment?

We recommend not laying flat for four hours immediately after Dysport treatment. Avoid massage, heavy exercise, and profuse sweating for a few days after treatment to prevent contamination of injection sites and unwanted migration of Dysport. Drinking and smoking is not recommended for at least twenty-four hours post-treatment to minimize risk of bruising. Results will begin to be apparent within 2-3 days, with full results in two weeks. Touchups and additional treatments should be a minimum of two weeks after treatment for best assessment.
