Skin booster treatments are a form of mesotherapy delivery, utilizing injected hyaluronic acid and other skin-rejuvenating add-ins to hydrate the skin, stimulate collagen production, restore skin elasticity and texture, and give skin GLOW. The skin functions to resist external stressors, prevent water loss, and act as a physical barrier. As such, most topical skincare, with the exception of a select few ingredients, sit on top of the skin or only penetrate somewhere within the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin. This is not to say that topical skincare is ineffective, but that they generally work superficially in the skin. Injection delivery bypasses the skin barrier, which is what makes skin booster treatments highly effective in improving skin quality. Hyaluronic acid, peptides, vitamins, PDRN, PN, and more can be delivered to deeper layers of the skin. This can allow for deeper and more long-lasting hydration, stimulation of collagen and elastin, improvement of skin texture and appearance of pores, and increased skin radiance.
Typically, skin booster injections are delivered with a multi-needle auto injector to ensure even spacing and depth penetration. A multi-needle auto injector looks and works similarly to a microneedling treatment tip, but instead has hollow needles to allow for delivery of hyaluronic acid solution. Microinjections, or tiny amounts of solution, are delivered all over the skin, nourishing the skin and triggering skin rejuvenation. Injection by hand is also possible in certain cases, depending on treatment area and individualized skin concerns.
