XEOMIN TREATMENT IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

Define beauty on your own terms with Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) treatments from Merz Aesthetics at DSC. Xeomin is an FDA-approved, injectable neurotoxin for the temporary treatment of forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Unlike other neurotoxin injectable treatments, Xeomin is the only purified toxin treatment, containing only botulinum toxin with no accessory proteins.

Subtle. Smooth. Stunning.

Xeomin works by relaxing the underlying facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles over time. Animation of the face results in “dynamic lines,” or wrinkles that appear only as the facial muscles move. With repeated movement over time, these dynamic lines can become etched into skin even at rest, becoming what are known as “static lines.” Precise injection of Xeomin into specific areas of the face temporarily blocks muscle movement, which then leads to smoothing and softening of overlying lines. Treatments are quick and easy, often only taking minutes, and results last between three to four months. There is little to no downtime after treatment.

At DSC, our providers tailor Botox treatments to fit your unique anatomy while helping you attain your aesthetic goals. Each area is precisely injected with an ultra fine needle, making treatments very comfortable. Results take effect within two weeks, giving a natural and radiant look – never frozen and unrecognizable. If you’re ready for a refresh, schedule your Botox consultation at DSC today!

FAQ’s

How much Xeomin do I need?

The number of Xeomin units needed for satisfactory treatment will depend on severity of lines before treatment, expectations for outcome, size of treatment area, and the number of treatment areas. Generally, it is recommended to treat the glabella area with 20 units, 12 units bilaterally for the crow’s feet, and the forehead with 20 units for excellent outcomes that last the prescribed outcome of three to four months. It is always possible to undertreat an area with additional touchups if needed, especially for first-timers. For individual dosing, we recommend scheduling a free consultation with our experienced consultants at DSC.

What is preventative Xeomin?

As outlined above, regular treatment of dynamic lines with Xeomin can help prevent the formation of static lines. Although static lines can be greatly softened and in some cases, eliminated, for the duration of a Xeomin treatment, there is not a 100% guarantee that all static lines will disappear. Xeomin works on the muscles that cause static lines, but some deepset lines may require adjunctive treatments for satisfactory improvement. These can include dermal fillers, laser treatments, and even regenerative treatments (.e.g. energy-based devices or biostimulatory injectables).

What’s the difference between Xeomin, Botox, and Dysport?

Xeomin, Botox, and Dysport are all FDA-approved neurotoxin injectable treatments. Xeomin is from Merz Aesthetics, Botox is from Allergan Aesthetics, and Dysport is from Galderma Aesthetics. They are different molecular variants of botulinum toxin with similar treatment results. They differ in dosage, rate of effectiveness, and spreadability. At DSC, we offer all three. Individual preference may come down to pricing, brand awareness, recent treatment with one brand or another, personal preference, desired timeline for outcomes, and various other factors. Unit to unit, Xeomin and Botox are very similar; Dysport units are dosed differently. We recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation to help determine which is the right treatment for you.

Am I a candidate for Xeomin?

Contraindications for Xeomin include, but are not limited to: pregnancy, breastfeeding, infection or inflammation at treatment sites, and conditions such Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Myasthenia Gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome. Consult your physician on eligibility for Xeomin treatments.

What is a Xeomin treatment like?

Treatment areas are assessed by our experienced providers before treatment commences. Skin is cleansed and disinfected, after which Xeomin is injected with a fine needle into precise treatment areas, as determined by individual anatomy. Lastly, treatment areas may be iced for a few minutes post-treatment to reduce redness and risk of bruising.

Is there any post-care after a Xeomin treatment?

We recommend not lying flat for four hours immediately after Xeomin treatment. Avoid massage, heavy exercise, and profuse sweating for a few days after treatment to prevent contamination of injection sites and unwanted migration of Xeomin. Drinking and smoking is not recommended for at least twenty-four hours post-treatment to minimize risk of bruising. Results will begin to be apparent within a few days, with full results in two weeks. Touchups and additional treatments should be a minimum of two weeks after treatment for best assessment.
