It is a type of skin booster injection treatment, wherein hyaluronic acid is injected relatively superficially into the skin in a gridwork fashion to smooth and plump the skin. What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring sugar molecule that draws one thousand times its weight in water. Because of this property, it is a common and very popular ingredient in topical skincare products. It is also the main component of most injectable dermal fillers. Various dermal fillers come in different viscosities/thicknesses of hyaluronic acid. This allows injection into different parts of the face to change the natural contours of the face as well as volumize and correct age-related volume loss.

How is a skin booster treatment like Skinvive different from filler?
While both dermal fillers and skin booster injections like SKINVIVE consist generally of hyaluronic acid, skin booster injection solutions are usually thinner in consistency, allowing for more superficial injection all over the skin. Treatments result in glowier, plumped, and hydrated skin. Injecting hyaluronic acid into the dermis bypasses the skin barrier and results in hydrated skin that is smoother and plumper. Hyaluronic acid molecules are too large to penetrate the skin, which means topical skincare hydrates only the skin surface. For long-term hydration, pair daily skincare with a SKINVIVE treatment for months of hydrated, glowing skin.
Dermal fillers are a thicker, more gel-like consistency, which makes them more suitable for localized injection in specific areas to volumize, plump, or smooth skin. Generally, dermal fillers are not injected all over the face to hydrate and smooth because of their thickness.

What is a SKINVIVE treatment like?
Skin is assessed for smoothness and hydration levels in order to determine treatment quantity and injection density. Skin that is drier and less smooth requires more SKINVIVE solution and higher injection density. Topical numbing cream is then applied tot treatment areas. This is in order to make treatments more comfortable. Once ready, numbing cream is cleaned off and treatment can begin. SKINVIVE solution is then injected evenly all across the skin. Once finished, we will apply a cooling sheet mask to calm and soothe the skin. There may be some light massage at points of injection to ensure smoothness of skin.
Is there any downtime?
There may be some residual redness or bumpiness at injection points for several days after treatment. This will resolve naturally after a few days as the solution is absorbed into the skin.
How to prepare for SKINVIVE treatment?
It is best to schedule treatments at least 2-3 weeks after other injectable skin treatments, cold sores, vaccinations, laser treatments, or illness. This is to prevent irritation or post-treatment complications. Because this is a type of hydrating skin booster treatment, there is very little preparation that needs to be done. If skin is very sensitive, discontinue use of AHAs or retinoids a few days before and after treatment.
What does aftercare entail?
Skin may be slightly red, bumpy, scabby, or sore after treatment for a few days. Take care to avoid irritating topicals for a few days post-treatment. Keeping skin clean and well-moisturized will improve healing time. Try to avoid facial massage and irritating treated skin.
